Macro and Micro-Photography

God in the details: Subjects ranging from prepared slides to simple found objects show the the amazing detail of Creation. Photographed both in nature as well as in the studio, I've always been fascinated by the structure of objects in variouis levels of magnification. There's something about the abstraction of an object that allows the basics of the Elements of Art and Design to show through: Line, shape, form, color, texture, and so on. By showing an object at its most basic level, you allow the visuals to be emphasized at the most basic levels as well. Close-up photography reminds us of the amazing things that we fail to see every day, and show us the wonders of the whole expanse of this world by showing us the smallest pieces of the subject.
